Upcycling Project with Sew4Service: Making Bliss Banners

Upcycling Project with Sew4Service: Making Bliss Banners In-Person

Bliss Banners-upcycling your old clothing/textiles

In this class you will learn how to create a flag or banner using your own items giving your creation a very personal connection. Banners will be approximately 4 in x 6 in or larger depending on personal choice, fabrics and time.

A bliss banner is intended to bring the creator positive thoughts and words of affirmation while making the banner. These can then be displayed inside or outside where the wind can carry away the positive thoughts or words of affirmation into the world.

These banners can be as simple as little strips of torn fabric in any colors you love, to seasonal ones for special occasions or upcycling beloved textiles that are old, worn out, stained or torn. They can be made to hang horizontally, or vertically, and can either be tied onto strings or cords to hang singly or in unison with others.

Optional Embellishments like buttons, trims, lace, charms, or pins
